Excellent piece, Sam. As far as I can tell, the superintendent and the school board have given no compelling reasons for eliminating full-day Side-by- Side. One wonders, then, if the move is driven by lurking prejudice or some other unsavory motives. I don't want to say that that is certainly what is going on. But the school board's willingness to cede all authority on this issue to the superintendent, when the superintendent hasn't given any actual argument for the move, strikes me as irresponsible at best.
