The North Korean leader should ponder this passage (as should all journalists tempted to refer to NK as somehow "Confucian"), before he makes any personnel decisions:
...Let no one hold office by hereditary privilege, and let no on hold more than one office at a time. In selecting officials, select only the most qualified. No ruler shall have sole authority to execute a high minister... (12.7)
Mencius didn't apply this to kings, though, did he?
