Is it just me, or is it not clear why scantily clad ladies prancing about in banana skirts somehow contribute to the claim the Taiwan is a part of China? Here is the caption for the picture below from the China Daily:

And, no, there is no ancient Chinese philosophy
angle here (I can find no references to banana skirts in any of the
great books). I just couldn't resist.
