This is a bit off my usual path of ancient Chinese thought, but last week a moderated a lecture given by Minxin Pei on the broad topic of "China Today." He focused mainly on recent economic issues and made some very good points (i.e. the aging demographic trend and the seriously limited water resources), which should be kept in mind when thinking about China's power in the world. I introduced him and managed a question period after his talk. You can hear an hour-long edited version (the original session ran an hour and a half) here.
